It’s all good so far. 3/21/13
It was one of those nights. One where you are not sure you are lying awake with subconscious worry, or that you have been plagued by an idea. Anyway, I saw the digital clock display many times during the night.
The other part of the time I saw something between a spreadsheet and an org chart. I was fairly sure that it was not my inner nerd hallucinating. (If it was – I am definitely going to have to upgrade the dream module). Rather it was an idea on how to present myself at an interview tomorrow. Something that I had planned to work on today, that is after getting up at a reasonable hour.
So I lay there imaging how I would show the environmental concerns, needs, and goals across a multi-product line company similar to my previous one. It was an impressive display and my inner geek self was impressed enough to get up and start the morning an hour and half early.
I was on the PC hammering out a more realistic version of what I had seen and was fairly satisfied with it when the power went out. The entire house was dark because of an errant line fuse. Fortunately there was more light in the dining room.
I used a flashlight to find an engineering pad got to the table. I was able to transcribe the majority of my mental notes and was ready for the lunch meeting. I ran a couple of errands and upon returning home discovered we had power. The computer came back on and I was able to recover the spreadsheet. After looking at both the forms, I was able to refine my ideas into a document that I was willing to present.
Sometimes something will grab us for a reason. I feel good about this and really want to see how this all plays out tomorrow when I have the interview.
