It’s all good so far. 5/15/13
Back in the office from the first round of business travel this month. It looks like I have travel set for the next 3 weeks. All part of the job – getting out and seeing what we are doing and if it fits into the company policy and procedures.
Getting back into the swing of regular travel. Different locations but routines to manage. I managed to get on the treadmill a couple of days during this most recent trip. Burning some calories to offset the after work social time. I do have a new toy that should help keep me in line.
It gives a lot of feedback on what you are actually doing – provided you keep feeding it accurate data such as weight and the one that I have trouble keeping up with – logging my food intake.
I have previously tried this device before in its belt clip form. It worked well until it took an unauthorized leave from my belt. This wrist band format declares itself waterproof and , I hope, fool proof. It hold a charge much longer than the previous model and hides well under the shirt sleeve.
It syncs with the apple devices and has a bluetooth dongle for the home pc. With tracking, comes privacy issues. It does offer a lot of opportunities to share information with friends etc. I have most of the selections set to maximize my privacy and limit what I share. I do realize that the company is probably doing something with the metadata. And I also realize that for all practical purposes, I am voluntarily wearing a tracking device. But the information I am getting is so darned interesting.
I want to see the next level of applications.
