It’s all good so far. 3/30/13

Another post done with the thumbs. Sitting at the tire shop while having two new tires installed on the College Car.

As we were headed out on the dog walk this morning, I was giving the car a visual once over and noticed a bulge on the tire. I need to have it roadworthy for its trip to Corsicana for the family Easter gathering.

This is the same car that we picked up from the body shop on Monday after it’s most recent fender bender. Wife and I were trying to remember if that was number 3 or 4 since we purchased the car.

The daughter got her license late and did not do a lot of driving. She acquired the fiancé who did not have his license. This has been the learning vehicle for both of them and it (and my wallet) have the scars to prove it.

While I grit my teeth and put the tire purchase on the credit card., I realize again, I have become my father.

Thumb typing this post. Left the iPad at the house since we were up early and I got through the email and RSS feeds.

Treating the day as a holiday. Sibling partnership taxes done. Banking done. Driving to Dad’s tomorrow so I am going to limit what I tackle today.

First up, to enjoy breakfast at our pace. Just need the new counter help to keep up with the coffee. Then we will work through the readable sections of the paper and then decide the order of errands.

It is that time where the clock is beginning to move slowly again.  We have done all we can to get the in-law’s house ready to sell.  We have hosted the sister-in-law and nephew (aka the vegetarian and contratrian), and have completed all the tasks we need to get the in-laws permanently in their new location.  All the accounting- data entry for the family business is up to date.  I finished the sibling partnership return and will start working on my own.  Scout projects are mostly up to date.  This will probably mean that I get well into organizing the home office and some other honey do’s.

What is really slowing the time down, is the waiting to hear back from a good interview.  Well good things come…

I was thinking this morning about the multiple time zones located in my house. We have working adult time (the time Sandra & I are normally on). During the week this is complicated with Jack Russell full speed ahead time starting at the crack of dawn (which is supplemented by brain dead schnauzer time). Add in a measure of 24 hour parental support expectation, and you have a typical week day.

Then mid-day on Friday we add college kid a home to the mix. The CK@H factor is a variable dependent on the type of television programming available at all hours of the night, strange late night kitchen experiments, and what ever parent supported shopping is needed.

To keep things even more interesting CK@H’s fiance works as the stage manager, lighting manager, and general dogs body at a night club during night club hours and sleeping during daylight hours on weekend.

And if were not complicated enough, we have family in from the west coast. So we have Portland time added to the mix. They are doing the morning caffeine fix when we are contemplating lunch.
