Got into San Francisco on a reasonably comfortable flight. It took a bit to get luggage recovered and then moved over to parking lot. Three different elevator trips and then a train ride to get to the rental car location. As you ride up the elevator you see that most of the terminal underground.
The terminal train ride was a bit crowded. We had a wannabe eurotrash chic grab the support pole and body block everyone else from using it. Sandra was hanging onto me and I was holding onto the light fixture. I was also vowing to accidentally have to push her into the pole if we had a sudden stop.
Got to and through the car renting process. It was a banner day for the rental agencies. Lines everywhere. Very polite staff met a very firm customer who needed a hatchback and a USB connection in the vehicle. Ended up with a full size Hyundai. We installed the phone, loaded the luggage and gave instructions to my navigator before setting out. Short streets and quick turns. I signal to merge and merge I shall.
We got to the hotel without incident. It is a small boutique hotel. We are on the first floor which requires an elevator trip in a turn of the last century cage. It a small room.
We got settled in then took a site-seeing hill climb around Chinatown.
It was a chance to play with the new camera. Forgive us as we learn with it. It is a Canon EOS T3i with a fair 18:55 mm lense and a lot of automatic settings. You get to see our learning curve.

Posing with the Foo Dog on sentry duty – Tilly these are for you.
And random street scenes.
Dinner was at the Great Eastern Restaurant. Its claim to fame is that Austin B. recommended it, and Obama has eaten there 3 times. It was not crowded when we got in but before we were finished it was wall to wall for one large family party. Potstickers, egg rolls, cashew chicken, Szechuan chicken, and Great Eastern Fried Rice. It was a full bellied hike back up the hills to find the hotel.
We got in, got settled and still being on Texas time with a sleep deficit, we called it an early evening.
