It's all good so far

Things are slowing down now and I am at that point where I need to stir stuff up. The 2012 books for the company are ready to go to the accountant, and we have Dad’s books working too.

I have pushed Dad for the 2013 data so we can keep the editing even with the initial entry, but that will only take a couple of days to prepare. I may have to break down and do my own 2012 books for tax estimations only.

Time to review more geology of our areas of interest. It would be a good review for me and would help in the archiving efforts.

I also will try to do some more exercise. We have the two dog walks per day. The regular route covers about 3/4 ths of a mile so we get 1.5 miles in per day but that is not enough to get the weight off. I will shoot for post am dog walk walk at the track and see if I can get the mileage up to where it needs to be. It is the best free exercise opportunity available.

The slow time is the challenge. Time to stay off the couch, away from the tv, and see how productive/proactive I can be.

I was spending a little time on Facebook before I was going to start this post. A friend had posted a picture of the courthouse at Stiles which brought back memories. I took the opportunity to hijack his post with the story about my close encounter with the guard javelina. I glad he got a laugh out of it.

We all collect stories along the way. Too many fade away as do our memories. That is what I like about blogging. It gives one a platform to put their stories out there. And it allows me the opportunity of discovery, and to find and follow things that peak my interest.

Slow Sunday Morning. We will be back into the full Church routine next weekend. So I am trying to get a jump on the week. Chase Bank is not helping. These financial weasels have changed policies on internal transfers and bill payments.

I used to be able to pay my Chase Credit Card directly from any account, but now they have decided to work the float into the system. I have to transfer money from savings into checking before I can pay the bill. I have the transfer set but the timing delay is not customer friendly.

They have also not credited a charge from my electric company. The Infinite Energy Company has a third party billing firm that has seems to delay things. I see the bill they want to post to the account on 3/1/13. They show the bill charged to the card. Unfortunately the card does not show the charge yet. I had been waiting to transfer funds after the charge had hit, because you can’t pay more that the current balance due. I had wanted to get everything done at once. So much for just in time delivery of money. I will just do the best that I can do.

There was a brief dog alarm disruption. Door to door Evangelists. I can appreciate the commitment that takes. We Episcopalians don’t do this well. I have made a couple of invitations in the past but have not made any headway. When we were doing Evening Prayer, I would open the doors and ring the bell. I would read the service whether or not we had anyone present.

I would like to do this again – I will have to wait until after Lent. Let’s see what happens.

Texas Independence Day and I am writing from the cafe as I wait on breakfast. Dare I think that it is a return to normalcy?

The in-laws have been checked on, and we now have a list of essential forgotten stuff. We will do some of that search and fetch after breakfast. It is not the only thing I have to do today.

I do have to go laptop shopping with the daughter. She will either pay for a chrome book if available or half of a laptop – she owns 50% of the cat that killed the other one, or will pay later to get the data off the hard drive of the of the same.

She wants a chrome book, but I am not sure that they are readily available and she needs something at schools quickly. We will see what is out there.

I also need to check in with Dad. I left him contemplating the amount whit space in the ledger printout. It is one of those areas of random but determined frugality that is a sticking point with him. He will spend an hour of time to save a few sheets of paper and ink.

There are a couple of new job opportunities to look into too. So it will be busy. What I really find strange is that I have two hardback sequels from my favorite authors sitting unopened on my night stand. Oh well.
